![]() As our program expands into Matchbook Learning this year, we are so excited to be working alongside new kiddos and school staff to achieve positive academic results for more students impacted by homelessness. The longer we are able to work with students, the more likely they are to be promoted to the next grade and achieve critical academic milestones. ![]() As a result, we saw an increase not only in the number of students enrolled in our program, but also the length of time students spent in the program. With an increased presence, we were able to become more deeply embedded in the culture of each school, build stronger relationships with school administration and teachers, better understand the needs of each student, and allow staff to better identify McKinney-Vento eligible students. This had a direct impact on our students and allowed us to form stronger and more collaborative partnerships with these sites. Thanks to generous funding from Glick Fund, a fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation, we were able to increase our time in select school sites from a few hours per week to two full days per week. Our expansion into Matchbook Learning was made possible in part due to the success of our enhanced educational services pilot program that was launched during the 2018/2019 school year at Cold Spring Elementary and URBAN ACT Academy. Matchbook Learning is our first school site on the west side of Indianapolis and is an important location for us to reach more students impacted by homelessness. ![]() Did you know that we expanded into a new partner site this school year? We are so excited to now have a presence at our seventh school location, Matchbook Learning! This means that we are now meeting the academic needs of children and families impacted by homelessness in 17 locations (edited to add new site ) throughout Indianapolis.
